I am a mechanical engineer turned design researcher. I leverage socially-engaged design and rapid prototyping to create products and services with communities for sustainable development. I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in Design Science at the University of Michigan.

Sienko Research Group

I research design processes of products for use in low-resource settings, focus on early prototyping for stakeholder engagement. Methods include design ethnography and choice experiments. My work brought me to Ghana and Thailand.

I work to increase women's access to job opportunities in rural villages of Karnataka, India.  We are quantifying female labor supply for traditional work and home-based work, and how cultural norms affect labor supply.
